Sometimes, a facility’s safety policy specifies a minimum level of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for everyone who works on energized equipment, regardless of how low the calculated incident energy may be.
As such, arc flash hazard labels that would normally be PPE #0 must be created as PPE #1. The quickest, easiest way to accomplish this is to simply edit the PPE levels table in your device library within EasyPower.
Here’s how:
1. Open EasyPower
2. Open the library you wish to edit. Most people will use only the library defined in Options->File Locations->Default Device Library.
EasyPower should default to this location when attempting to open a library. The standard filename for this library is Stdlib.mdb.
3. Expand the PPE Levels->Levels branch:
4. Change the contents of the PPE Level text and description columns for the first row (0-1.19 cal/cm2) to now reflect a required PPE level of #1 and the corresponding clothing description:

5. Now close the library and run your arc flash analysis. Notice that what would have been PPE #0 now shows as PPE #1:
