NFPA 70E 2018: Changes and Implementation Strategies - What You Need to Know and Why?

In this webinar, given by Mike Doherty, we explore the significant changes and continual improvement process best practices as demonstrated between the 2015 and recently released (in Sept 2017) 2018 editions of NFPA 70E. He also discusses implementation and potential paths forward for the good use of time and resources. Learn to navigate the NFPA 70E document organizational structure in a practical and efficient manner. There will be also be some focus on the critical interactions between Article 110.1 (I) (1) Job Safety Planning and Article 110.1 (I) (2) - Job Briefing and the alignments to Shock and Arc Flash Risk Assessment Procedures.

Mike is the president and owner of Blue Arc Electrical Safety Technologies Inc. since 2003 and an independent contractor consultant and trainer for eHazard in Canada. He serves as the Technical Committee Chair of CSA Z462 - Workplace Electrical Safety since inception in 2006 and also on the NFPA 70E - Article 130.4 Working Group for this cycle. Mike is the official liaison between Canada (CSA) and U.S.A. (NFPA) for electrical safety from 2006 -2015 & from 2017 to present. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and an IEEE Petroleum & Chemical Industry Committee (PCIC) Emeritus. He was the H & S Manager and Consultant at PowerTel Utilities Contractors Limited, a high voltage specialist in transmission, distribution and substation construction and maintenance, worked for E&USA/IHSA in Ontario as a consultant / trainer and completed 31 years at Ontario Hydro / OPG in the nuclear power generation facilities. Mike is a licensed 442A electrician, Industrial Instrumentation Technician, Scientific Engineering Technician and H&S Professional. He was an electrical skills instructor for three years for the Darlington Nuclear Power Station.
