Converting a Solar or Wind Farm Design to an Equivalent Lumped Model for Bulk Electrical System Studies
In this webinar, Tao Yang, Ph.D, PE, from EasyPower describes how to convert a detailed solar or wind farm one-line model in EasyPower to an equivalent utility-scale lumped model, which can then be used in Bulk Electric System (BES) level studies such as power flow, short circuit, and stability. He describes the method used to calculate lumped pad mount transformers (GSU) specifics, collector system equivalent, and lumped generator specifics, using a practical solar farm design model as an example for the entire process.
